The Happy Kettle Project

My dear friend and mentor Melissa, who has called Margarita Island home for many years now, has started a GoFundMe campaign to help provide nutritional food for children in the island.
Some of us are aware of the dire situation in Venezuela, but very few of us can imagine what it's really like to see children starve. The humanitarian crisis in their community, in the midst of a complete economic collapse, is so profound that the child malnutrition rate is estimated at 60%. The children in this community are simply not guaranteed a hot meal each day. The “Happy Kettle (Ollita Feliz)” project has been providing nourishing meals to children on Margarita Island since May, preparing and distributing between 100 and 300 meals to children in vulnerable communities on Saturdays.

The Happy Kettle project was started by the community-based organization of volunteers known as “MargaritaSmiles (MargaritaSonrie)”, which is committed to making a difference in the lives of these children, offering them a ray of hope and creating for them a hot, nourishing meal, and a place and time for laughter and smiles. The Happy Kettle project has already distributed over 4,000 hot meals to hungry children in Margarita.

As we all know, when it comes to online fundraising, every little helps, and I hope you can contribute to this worthy cause! Here's the link.
