Barbados Independent Film Festival 2019

I'm super excited for the 3rd annual Barbados Independent Film Festival launching this weekend! The Festival is taking place between January 11th- 20th, with films being screened at various locations islandwide! Check out the full schedule here.
I'm most excited about Cine Cuisine: Wasted! The story of food waste, which is being hosted by Slow Food Barbados.
We're planning an al fresco dinner and outdoor movie screening at Copacabana Barbados, with an invigorating discussion around food waste in Barbados, on Thursday, January 17th at 5:30pm.
We will be serving a sustainably sourced, fresh small plates dinner by top Barbadian chefs:
- Alisha Stoute of ECO Lifestyle + Lodge
- Chef Moo of Cafe Luna Barbados
- Scott Ames of Scott's Catering
- Chelston Sampson of Copacabana Barbados

Their dishes will help tell the story of the challenges around food waste in Barbados.
Every year 1.3 billion tons of food is thrown away, or roughly 30 percent of global production, is lost or wasted annually, according to the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO).
Filmmakers explore the reasons for this waste and ways to fix the problem in the film “Wasted! The Story Of Food Waste” feat. the late Anthony Bourdain.
We will explore this topic with a panel discussion with key players in the local Barbadian food system.

Have you been to the #BimLovesFilm Festival before?

Which films are you most excited about?

  2. On the off chance that your film is in the frightfulness type, at that point go for something somewhat tense and strange, instead of an in-your-face close up of a bleeding figure.new action movies
